REDESIGN GUIDE
By Joshua Jackai, Founder and Lead Designer · Updated September 2026
Timelines are where expectations break, usually because the quoted number described the building and not the deciding. These are end to end, from kickoff to live.

Content. Waiting on copy is the single most common delay, and it is almost always on the client side.
Feedback cycles. A two-day turnaround and a two-week turnaround are the difference between a three-week and a six-week project.
Scope added mid-project. Every “while we are in there” has a timeline cost, even when it is small.
Custom functionality. Booking systems, calculators, and gated content are projects inside the project.
Approval by committee. Each additional approver adds days, not hours.
Compressed schedules rarely cut design; they cut research, structure, and testing, because those are invisible in a review. That is how a site ships on time and performs like the one it replaced. The process guide explains which stages are doing the load-bearing work.
Arrive prepared. The redesign checklist is the whole trick.
Name one decision-maker and agree a feedback turnaround in days.
Have copy ready, or buy copywriting as part of the scope rather than discovering the gap later.
Freeze scope at the structure sign-off and keep a list for phase two.
Can a website be redesigned in a week?
A landing page or a very focused site, yes. A full business site in a week means something important was skipped.
Why do agencies quote three to six months?
Larger teams, more approval layers, and longer discovery phases. The work itself rarely requires that long for a business marketing site.
What is the fastest safe timeline?
Two weeks, with fixed scope, prepared content, and fast feedback. That is exactly what our two-week lean funnel is built around.
Does migrating platforms add time?
Usually one to two weeks, mostly for content migration and redirect mapping.
Tell us the scope and your feedback capacity and you will get a realistic launch date, with the assumptions stated.
