CLIENT ONBOARDING
By Joshua Jackai, Founder and Lead Designer · Updated September 2026
Projects run smoothly when everyone knows the sequence. Nothing here is a surprise later; it is all written down now so you can hold us to it.
Kickoff. We confirm the goal, the metric, and the launch date, and agree who approves what.
Gathering. You send assets and access; we audit what exists.
Structure. You approve the page inventory and conversion paths before any design starts.
Design. Direction first, then key templates, then the rest.
Build. Responsive build, content, integrations, analytics.
Launch. Redirects, sitemap, monitoring, then a month of post-launch support.
The full list is on the redesign checklist. The short version is: goals and the metric that proves them, brand assets in usable formats, access to domain, hosting, analytics, and CRM, your content or a date for it, and one named decision-maker.
Consolidated, not trickled. One set of notes per round beats fifteen messages.
From the named decision-maker, with internal disagreements resolved before they reach us.
Specific about the problem, not prescriptive about the fix. “This does not feel trustworthy” is more useful than “make the logo bigger”.
Within the agreed turnaround, because the timeline assumes it.
Every package includes two substantive revision rounds. Most projects use fewer, because structure and direction are agreed before design begins. Changes that alter the agreed scope are quoted separately rather than absorbed quietly, so nothing arrives as a surprise on an invoice.
Project communication and updates: your shared channel.
Files and deliverables: the shared project folder.
Review links: a staging URL, updated as work progresses.
Invoices and payments: sent by email, payable online.
How quickly do you respond?
Within one business day, usually much faster during an active build.
What if we need to pause?
Tell us early. Pausing is fine; a silent stall is what costs both of us time and money.
What happens after launch?
One month of post-launch support for tweaks, questions, and guidance is included.
Can we add scope mid-project?
Yes, quoted separately so the original timeline and budget stay honest.
Anything unclear on this page is worth a five-minute conversation now rather than a misunderstanding in week three.
