The challenge
A regulated tobacco retailer needed to move off Wix onto WooCommerce, grow a catalog that had stalled at 149 products, and stay compliant with age-verification requirements throughout.
What I did
Treat catalog creation as a pipeline rather than data entry: migrate the existing SKUs, then use AI-assisted bulk creation to add products at a rate manual entry could not match.
The work
638 SKUs migrated from Wix to WooCommerce with 406 published at snapshot, catalog growth from 149 to 717+ SKUs inside May 2026, 2,240 products enriched across the wider engagement, and 186 SKUs live in a Google Merchant Center feed. A React compliance tool handles age verification.

In a regulated category, compliance has to be built into the pipeline. Bolting it on afterwards costs more than the migration.
Industry context
Migrations in the 500 to 2,000 SKU band are quoted at 6 to 8 weeks, and catalogue population at standard tier runs 8 to 12 SKUs per hour (shopexperts, 2026; MercuryMinds, 2026). Average migration timelines overrun by 41 percent (Elogic Replatforming Cost Index, 2026). This ran 638 migrated SKUs and a catalogue from 149 to 717 inside one month.
